Re-Setting Yourself After a Break

On 1st Jun, 2023, I along with my two children were off to my hometown Berhampur. The occasion was, Thread Ceremony of our Son Suraj, which is a ritual amongst the brahmins in our region. The celebrations took place over 4 days from 9th Jun to 12th Jun. On 12th Jun over 400 guests (mostly the very close family members, relatives and friends along with their families) participated the event. The 10 karmas, which are the part of the rituals were conducted over the last two days of the event on 11th and 12th of Jun, six on day one and balance four on day two.

Conducting a grand event like this, needed a lot of preparation, which actually began almost two months in advance and support and guidance from a lot of family members and relatives, vendors, service providers.

In the process of conducting this event, both my wife and I had to give up our food habits, daily yoga habits etc. because there were only that much time and bandwidth available to conduct something of large scale at some point of time in life.

As a start my day today, after packing off children to school with their tiffin, I sat down to writing my journal today after a gap of over 10 days. Post writing this article, I will be doing my yoga after a gap of near two weeks.

As a write this, I realize that such breaks in everybody's life is eminent because there will be some planned and some unplanned events in life, which will pause the regular life good style (proper diet, daily exercise, daily journaling, etc), what is most important is re-start. As I started writing my journal today, my fountain pen troubled a lot, but I was determined not to give up until I finish.

So, the message is, even if one gets into a situation where, there are unintended breaks to your disciplined lifestyle, control your mind and go through the grind of re-setting yourself. It may be very boring to go through the grind, but the results will be far greater than the present pain of re-starting.

Let me know if you have any thoughts about this topic.
